hey there today I am sharing seven travel tips for packing
light when you travel and pack light you are going to save an extra amount of
space in your suitcase your carry-on suitcase your travel bag or your duffel
bag whatever case you're using let's maximize that space by packing light and
here are
7 travel tips for packing light so I am sharing
seven travel tips but I'm going to break down each tip into specific details on
how to help you pack light when you travel to stay with me to the end to find
out what is one thing you can do if you do not know how to even begin to pack
light the number one travel tip to packing light is to pack so that your outfit pieces perform double
duty like I'm going to wear heavy jeans and then
I'm gonna pack one a pair of black pants to wear during the
day or at night and then I'm going to wear like a light grey t-shirt a white
top a blacktop a blue top all those tops can be mixed and matched with just two
pairs of pants and that way I'm saving space m/s suitcase the number two travel
tip is to use a backpack instead of a purse because you can store so many
articles of clothing you can store your liquids now depending on what country
I'm going to I will use a crossbody bag this is my travel on and I'll link it
below but you can see that it's super deep its foldable it is moldable kind of
like a packing cube it can get wet you can also roll up a sweatshirt jacket and
put it in the bottom of your backpack because backpacks have so much room and
their zip so it contains everything to keep them safe I'll also put my
medicines or my liquids in my backpack instead of in my suitcase and now I've
listed three items for basically that will not be in my suitcase and therefore
I'll have maximum space left in my suitcase the number three travel tip for
packing
light is to pack blendable colors like I recommend wearing
blue jeans and a black pair of pants or jeans and those black jeans can be
dressed up with like a dressy scarf or another kind of scarf and different
shoes that kind of thing as you see here I have all these kind of tops and
colors that can blend with blue jeans and black pants I wanted to pack this
Nordstrom sweater because it's layer above but it does not go with black jeans
so if it is not a multitasker then I'm not going to use it if I'm if my goal is
to pack light and just because they are blendable colors doesn't mean that it's
a boring outfit you can dress things up with some fun earrings some jewelry
that kind of thing
I forgot to say even your fingernails can add some little
personality you can buy those new ones now that you stick on and then you just
take them off with fingernail polish remover those work great I like to take
fingernail polish
and then if I have any scuffs I can fix them real quick the
fourth travel tip to packing light is to wear your heaviest clothing like I
said earlier I was going to wear my blue jeans on the plane and then pack my
black pair of pants I will wear my tall boots because those take up room in my
suitcase I'll save room in my suitcase by packing like my canvas shoes that
kind of thing in there one way that I can pack light with shoes is by using
this section of my suitcase to pack my shoes there is an expandable section in
my suitcase and most suitcases for this outer section it doesn't have to expand
that much like it really will help you this helps you pack white because now
you have all this space in the base part of your suitcase my mom is in Israel
right now and she asked me about outfit choices and I was like don't wear your
leggings on the airplane wear your jeans because those take up the most space
in your suitcase
and she said no I want to wear leggings so she did not take
my advice but she even had extra space in her suitcase with some of my travel
tips now her packing light I'll only pack sneakers and another pair of shoes to
wear on vacation I keep a pair of sneakers at my in-laws house and a pair of
sneakers at my parents house and that way I don't have to take tennis tissues
every time I go on vacation to their house so those are not going to be in the
outer section of my suitcase if you can figure out a way to do that's a smart
way to pack light
I really think this fifth travel tip is key for packing
light and that is to write down what outfits you're gonna wear each day after
you have laid them out on your floor like I have you can see that I have outfit
pieces that are blendable colors I have outfit pieces that are working double
time performing double duty and they are mix-and-match of all with the blue
jeans I can wear the t-shirt I can wear
the blue sweater with it I can wear the sweatshirt and the plaid shirt tucked
in so that's three outfits then with the black jeans I can wear it with the
sweatshirt the plaid untucked shirt and even the blue sweater if I want to dress
it up for dinner sometimes and like I said earlier if it is not a multitasker
then do not pack it when I write out my outfits I love using a cute little
magic marker in a journal that I have I don't know it just makes me feel
special and it makes me slow down while
I'm making my list the sixth travel tip for packing light
is to pack your basic small amount of makeup items to get you through the trip
and then accent them with one color like I have my neutral colors in here I
have a blush in this mary kay compact but they are my neutrals so I'm gonna
pack this burgundy color because I'm allergic to regular Burgundy so I'm
packing this dye free one from Young Living as my accent piece and that's gonna
help me glam up a look
if I'm going out to eat or something or something special I
want to add for a little pizzazz for my makeup but I'm only packing small items
now you could pack this dark brown one from Revlon you could pack like a bright
blue one because that's what goes on my eyeliner sometimes with a little
smudger brush so if you take your minimal amount of neutral makeup pieces and
then a couple of accent colors you are only taking up a little bit of space in
your toiletries kit now let me tell you this tip do not take for granted the
little brushes that are in your drugstore brand eyeshadow palettes like these
little brushes they are gonna do just fine even a q-tip
would do just fine for a five-day trip and that way you
don't have to pack all of your brushes now this is like one third of my brushes
because I just love makeup brushes and makeup but try not to bring all of your
brushes if it means you're gonna save space I love this eyeshadow palette and
the reason it is great for travel is because if I use my base colors this
little flap little pallet like they make palettes like they make now they fit
basically along the edge of your makeup bag so they're not gonna take up that
much space it's like a really thick edging to your bags vii travel tip for
packing light is to use cubes the reason that I use these is because they are
moldable they have a little handle for organization they fit in your carry-on
suitcase now these are wide and they are cheap okay I just use these two in my
suitcase I never thought I would like them I did a video and it's one of my
most watched videos of rolling method versus the packing cubes method I am now
a packing cubes girl and you can
find out why there I also am fixing to order some packing
cubes that are made only for carry-on suitcases so they're long and skinny and
I don't know if you're supposed to roll them or fold them but I will let you
know which I like better let me know below in the comments if you have used
packing cubes
in that shape yet and whether or not you like them
there is a solution out there for those of you who really have trouble packing
light and I just found these I just bought them you can get them on Amazon a
pack of six their Ziploc bags for travel and there is no vacuum cleaner needed
they compress and they flat like flatten those bulky sweaters they compress
everything much smaller I don't think I would like compression packing cubes I
don't know I don't think they're the same thing. so I really hope these tips
help you on what you do need if you have an idea or question just leave me a
comment below.
